Katie discovered yoga as a way to use movement to develop mindfulness and balance after years of competitive swimming. Throughout the past thirteen years, she has experienced the emotional and physical benefits of this mindful and playful practice to improve physical health, cultivate unconditional acceptance, reduce the effects of stress, and preserve a lighthearted spirit. Katie has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health, specializing in couples & family therapy and the integration of creative and expressive arts into therapeuticsettings. As a teacher Katie hopes to help her students develop a holistic wellness practice centered on the breath, acceptance, and fun.
